What is Qi Gong?

‘Cultivating and harmonising internal energy through regulating the mind, breath and the posture’

Qi Gong means  literally, ‘breath or energy work’ The term Qi Gong pertains to any work or practice which has the specific aim of ‘nourishing, conserving and harmonising’ ‘internal’ energy to promote health, spiritual/mental development and even martial ability. There are many common forms of Qi Gong in China most have their roots in Taoism and Buddhism.  All share the idea of self cultivation and all seek to promote and cultivate a healthy body and balanced mind.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine and Taoist practice, Qi Gong activates, restores and nourishes the physiological, mental and energetic systems of the body. To bring this about all Qi Gong regulates physical posture (form), breath and mental activity.
