Muscular Dystrophy

I went to see Awais Mian at a friend’s recommendation about a year ago. I have had acupuncture in the past to help manage chronic illness (specifically, nerve and muscle treatment) and found it vastly superior to any other form of treatment for my condition. I have a degenerative muscle condition and at the time was struggling to maintain mobility (doctors had advised that I begin using a wheelchair).

 I was in my final year of a master’s degree. I was suffering from fatigue and anxiety as well as falling a lot with very weak legs. I felt let down by public health services able to provide me with a wheelchair but unable to help me re establish some strength and to maintain my mobility. Very quickly I found that Awais' treatments made me feel better,  I noticed that I had some circulation back in my legs and feet, and gradually my damaged muscles begin to feel more healthy - to the touch and for me walking, it meant that they felt stronger and more stable. Along with support for my general wellbeing, in particular my energy levels, I was able to begin to swim and walk and build some fitness and condition, and to get through the intense final months of my degree. My anxiety improved immensely, to the point where it no longer dominated my life and is now something easily managed on my own.

When I began my acupuncture treatment I had sustained two severe sprains to the same ankle as a result of frequent falling. Because of my poor circulation the swelling wouldn't go down and this prevented the tissue from healing normally. The acupuncture and treatment I received from Awais was profound; especially after the latter sprain, I was in a lot of pain and the needles were better than any medication and I watched as the swelling went right down and some good colour came back by the end of my session. Those sprains healed far better than I had expected, I have had no aches or repercussions at all and the injured ankle now feels as strong as the other.

I am now pregnant with my first child. It was anticipated that I would struggle a lot with pregnancy, so I have been exercising well and I see Awais every fortnight for treatment. I had very bad morning sickness which acupuncture was very helpful for and Awais has fixed my sinuses and allergies for me, but the main thing for me is that I feel very well looked after. I appear to be in better condition so far than many women are by their third trimester and there is certainly so far no need for a wheelchair even to make it through these last months. I feel healthier and stronger than I have done in a very long time and without Awais' help I would not be able to say the same. His treatment has been integral to my ongoing mobility and good health and by that in turn, I feel, to the little one I am expecting. For acute as well as for ongoing "maintenance" I have found the treatment with Seven Heavens profoundly beneficial.
