Beginning Of Healing
We combine modern western scientific knowledge with the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine to provide an individual holistic treatment program. Patients are taught basic exercises and meditation to compliment their treatments. We advise on diet and lifestyle to improve the longevity of the treatments. Several different treatment techniques are usually harmoniously conjoined to achieve optimal results. Our experienced therapists will find a bespoke holistic treatment to suit your needs.
During the first visit, the therapist will inquire about your relevant medical history to reach an accurate diagnosis as well as discuss your expectations of the treatment. This assesment can take up to 30- 60 minutes.
Sessions are about one hour in length. Patients are played music and shown breathing methods to enhance their state of relaxation during the treatment. We aim to regulate and harmonise the body’s stress response and let it enter a deeper state of relaxation, in which the natural self healing mechanism engages with the immune system.
Please avoid alcohol, caffeine, excessively large meals or an empty stomach before treatments. Loose fitted clothing is the best choice. Always ensure you have eaten something before you arrive at the clinic.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a characteristic component of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In traditional theory the Qi, or life force, must be balanced and rejuvenated to promote a healthy mind, body and spirit. The pressures of modern life can inhibit our body’s natural cycles. Acupuncture is a safe and effective way to restore the balance to the body. More.
We often combine acupuncture with therapeutic body work methods or massage. Treatments may begin with massage and cupping, and then proceed into acupuncture.
Cupping
Cupping is the application of local suction on various tissues. The goal is to invigorate circulation and help to release stagnant Qi and blood, as well as expel toxins. It is a very relaxing part of the treatment. Cupping may sometimes leave painless marks on the skin for a few days. More.
Moxibustion
The herb Mugwort can be used within massage or acupuncture. The therapist uses a stick of the herb to warm the body direct through the skin or through acupuncture needles. It provides a very comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable feeling of warmth. An infra red heat lamp can also be used as a method of treatment. More.
Acupressure
An essential component of bodywork, acupressure is used by therapists to change the neuromuscular conditions in the body. On a deeper level, it targets the restoration of the natural movement of energy. More.
Deep Tissue Massage
This style of massage uses a considerable amount of pressure to reach the deeper fibres of the muscles. It is considered the treatment of choice for those who prefer a strong massage. Some muscular soreness may remain for a day or two after these treatments. No physical exertion for two days and long hot baths are advised after a deep tissue treatment.
Facial Rejuvenation Massage
Focusing on the facial muscles, the therapist uses a blend of oils to enhance circulation and bring back the natural lustre to the features. Refreshing, invigorating and gentle.
Swedish Massage
A simple and relaxing form of massage which uses oils. Usually a full body treatment from head to toe.
Indian Head Massage
A blend of oils is used to invigorate the hair, the scalp and face. A very relaxing and soothing treatment.
Lymphatic Drainage
Simple and elegant. Gentle pressure is used to move lymphatic fluids around the body. A good choice for those with poor circulation and desire for a lighter touch. Ideal for assisting detox plans.
Myofascial Release
A neuromuscular treatment. The therapist manipulates the connective tissue and soft tissue structures of the body. The connective tissue forms a web throughout the body and the manipulation of this web can have deep effect on muscles, tendons and the nervous system. Static postures are applied for several minutes in a slow progressing treatment.
Qi Gong Therapy
The therapist uses a mixture of on-the-body and off-the-body techniques to stimulate and move the patient’s energy. Our therapists use their knowledge of natural Qi flow to assist the patient’s energetic pathways in self-rejuvenation.
Qi Gong & Tui Na Massage
A variety of energetic massage strokes both light and deep are employed to balance the patients energy. This can be done with oil or on top of clothes.
Sport and Injury Recovery Massage
A special treatment to help athletes and competitors to prepare for performance activities, or as a post-event recovery massage. Usually a short and brisk treatment of 10-20mins in length, provided on the sport event location.
In case of a sport injury recovery, a variety of massage techniques, stretches and exercises are employed to facilitate healing.
